RENAULT SPORT DUATHLON RAISES £650 FOR CHARITY

Northamptonshire’s Rockingham Motor Speedway provided the venue for this year’s 2._competitors_line_the_start_grid.jpgannual Renault Sport duathlon which raised an impressive £650 for two charities.

 

The money raised is to be split equally between Barnardo’s and brain injury charity Headway in support of former Formula Renault UK driver Henry Surtees.

Entrants from all over the country converged on the Lake District last weekend for drivers_and_ofiicials_line_up_with_their_vehicles.jpgMotorsport Endeavour's first ever Endeavour Rally of the Lakes.

 The event, over 2 days, consisted of over 150 miles of driving and navigation exercises for the 2 person crews, with one person per crew being disabled either physically or medically. The event took the form of a touring assembly where road regulations were closely monitored, but chose roads that were unfamiliar to the majority and very different to those experienced at home.

Hitech-run FC Porto took victory in the second of three Superleague Formula races at Estoril on Sunday while second and ninth place for Liverpool FC extends its lead at the top of the tables. New signing Alvaro Parente, making a one-off appearance for the squad in the FC Porto car, recovered from being forced out of the opening race with a convincing victory in the second.

Northamptonshire’s Rockingham Motor Speedway saw Apotex Scorpio Motorsport’s Kieren Clark (Royston) crowned the 2009 Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship winner during two dramatic rounds (10 and 11) on September 5th/6th. Twenty-year-old Clark, who has dominated the one-make single-seater series since the season got underway in May, wrapped up the title with two rounds still left to run and handing his team its second consecutive driver title

The Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain, hosts the only triple-header event of the campaign this coming weekend, 12th/13th September, with the seventh and eighth rounds of the championship also joined by an additional race – the latter arranged by officials to compensate drivers and teams for the cancelled Donington Park rounds earlier in the year.

Holmes Hits Formula Four For Six

Ilkley's Chris Holmes smashed the Oulton Park Formula Four lap record on his way to a dominate pair of wins in the latest round of the 2009 F4 Championship. 
The 22 year old racing driver took a convincing pole position for the first race of the double header event, and used it to good advantage. Chris made a flying start from which he never looked back, eking out a formidable lead. On his way to the race one win Chris set the fastest lap, breaking the Formula Four lap record for the Cheshire circuit.

Following a protest lodged by SEAT Sport, the WTCC Stewards at Oschersleben investigated a collision between Augusto Farfus and Yvan Muller during the first race.
Having heard the parties and examined the data loggers of both cars, the Stewards decided to impose a reprimand to the Brazilian driver of BMW Team Germany.

BMW cars made the most out of their home race meeting, as Andy Priaulx and Augusto Farfus shared victories in today's races.

The Briton won the first one from SEAT Sport's Gabriele Tarquini and Rickard Rydell, ending a 15-month drought. Later Priaulx claimed another podium result, finishing second between Farfus and Tarquini.

Having qualified for the Super Final after scoring the third highest points total of the weekend, the Spaniard then won himself and the team €30,000 for finishing third.
