MANX CRASH COSTS PEREZ CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD
| Attachment 16348 | | Steve Perez and Scott Martin in action on the RBS International Manx Rally | VK Vodka Kick Rally Driver Steve Perez crashed out of the RBS International Manx Rally on SS3 and in doing so relinquished the lead in the ANCRO Championship.
Along with new co driver Scott Martin, Perez was hoping for a good result after the two day event in the ex Dani Sola Ford Focus WRC 05 and following a promising start on the 120 mile event it was looking good for the Chesterfield businessman.
However a mile from the end of stage three on Friday evening, a series of bumps caused Perez to lose control and ended up impacting with a bank which caused serious damage to the front end of the car.
The onboard telemetry showed the impact to have happened at 160kph meaning Perez and Martin were lucky to get away with a shaking.
