FAVOURITES SET TO FIGHTBACK

After troubled outings at round two of the Shannons Australian Production Car Championship, early title favourites David Ryan and Drew Russell are hoping for a change of fortune at Oran Park raceway this weekend, starting with qualifying tomorrow.

Ryan was shattered when he was excluded from race two at Tasmania’s Symmons Plains after race information couldn’t be downloaded from the data logger in his Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo. He had won that race while arch rival Russell was ousted with a broken differential.

The Russell team were already fuming about the parity adjustments made on the nimble Honda S2000 where its maximum engine revs had been curtailed
