WILL BRATT - OULTON PARK PREVIEW

Scorpio Motorsport’s Will Bratt heads to Oulton Park Island Circuit in 10 days with the very real prospect of a career-best Formula Renault UK result there for the taking, having set the fourth fastest time in official testing at the Cheshire venue last week.

The Adderbury 18-year-old, backed this year by Apotex Pharmaceuticals, impressed the established order at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit during the first two rounds of the season with a pair of particularly impressive drives and is now aiming to better the fifth-place race finish he achieved during last November’s Winter Championship.

Continuing to combine racing with his vital final year of A-level studies at Bloxham School near Banbury, Will has shone so far during 2006 and is now rightly regarded as a true frontrunner and a driver with the undoubted potential to record a maiden podium finish this season.

Oulton Park Island Circuit was the venue for one of Will’s best performances during the 2005 Formula Renault UK Championship and with last week’s official test having seen him set a quickest lap just six 10ths of a second shy of the outright pace, it’s certainly not an unrealistic ambition for Will to strive for a top four finish when the series resumes.

Commenting on his chances ahead of the third and fourth rounds of the season, the Oxon ace said:
