OULTON TEST UNDERLINES BRATT’S GENUINE FRONT-RUNNING PACE
Will Bratt continued his stunning start to the 2006 Formula Renault UK Championship at Oulton Park Island Circuit today, the 18-year-old steering his Scorpio Motorsport car to a richly deserved top-four time in official testing.
Ahead of the third and fourth rounds of the season, which will take place at the Cheshire venue on 13th/14th May, Will repeated the same front-running form he displayed at Brands Hatch during the first two rounds of the season to end today’s sessions with a fastest time of 1m 19.248 seconds.
Quicker than the likes of pre-season championship favourite Sebastian Hohenthal and Brands Hatch race winner James Sutton, the Adderbury sensation enjoyed a highly productive day’s running and is now rightly confident of achieving career-best results when he returns to Oulton Park in a fortnight’s time.
During the first of the day’s two sessions, Will posted the 10th fastest time with a lap of 1m 20.331 seconds (99.75mph). But after using newer tyres later in the afternoon, the Apotex Pharmaceuticals-backed ace knocked more than a second off his earlier best to move into the top four
