METCALFE QUICK AT OULTON DESPITE NECK INJURY
Formula Renault UK star Jeremy Metcalfe can rightfully expect to aim for his first race win of 2006 at Oulton Park Island Circuit in a little over a fortnight’s time after concluding today’s official test session at the Cheshire venue second fastest overall.
The Fleet resident, currently third in the driver standings following the opening two rounds of the season at Brands Hatch earlier this month, arrived at Oulton Park suffering from a minor neck problem but the AKA Lemac ace refused to succumb to his injury, ending the day with a best lap of 1m 18.898 seconds.
Characteristically fast, Jeremy’s quickest time of the afternoon was just two 10ths of a second adrift of the best set by experienced team-mate Patrick Hogan, having improved his time from the day’s opening session by well over a second.
