In today's final race of the 2006 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season Tom Chilton managed an incredible feat - finishing third from 22nd on the grid.
Gavin Smith was knocked down to dead-last after a promising start, but managed to fight his way back into ninth.
Fabrizio Giovanardi had been running as high as fourth before Gordon Shedden collided with him, causing a puncture. The Italian rejoined a lap down after a pitstop and finished 16th.
TOM CHILTON "On the first lap Jason Plato had cold rear tyres and going into the second corner he over-steered on his own. That allowed me to go past him and everyone else I just drove around!
"When I came down the start straight for the first time and saw five cars in front of me I just thought, where's everyone gone? Then I just kept chipping away.
"To finish third from 22nd is an amazing feeling. I was absolutely flat out to the last bit."
