Deadline arrives for new Clio Cup orders. |

Teams and drivers wishing to guarantee one of the first New Clio Cup race cars to arrive in the UK must confirm their order immediately by paying the second instalment towards the cost of the new racer. More than 65 deposits have been received for the 2.0-litre, 205bhp machine, with a second payment of £9,250 required to confirm the order. The balance is to be paid upon delivery, which is expected to be before the end of 2006.
A build-slot has been reserved with Renault Sport Technologies in Dieppe to ensure UK teams and drivers receive their cars as soon as possible. They will then be free to test the latest Clio racer before the start of the 2007 ELF Renault Clio Cup season. While ordering for the new car remains open, subsequent build-slots for the UK may have to wait until orders from other European Renault subsidiaries have been fulfilled.
Renault UK Motorsport Manager Tim Jackson commented: “In recent weeks, confirmatory orders have been arriving in their droves but we are concerned that some customers may believe they can leave placing an order until the new year. I’m encouraging anyone who wants to be in good time to join the first grid of 2007 to move quickly. It’s going to be a brilliant Championship.”
