Alex Davison, the fastest man ever around Mount Panorama in Carrera Cup
Glenfords Racing Carrera Cup team came to Bathurst confident of a strong result and left the mountain with all three cars finishing in the top six in a superb team effort.

Highlighted by a race win, scintillating pole time and lap record from Alex Davison, the round also saw Wall reclaim the Rookie title lead and Webb impress all with his massive double duty for Glenfords Racing this weekend.

After a season best performance in practice and qualifying with Alex Davison in the Glenfords-DeWalt Cup Car again setting the fastest time and new lap record of 2:10.93 to claim pole position, while the rapidly improving David Wall and his Glenfords-Hitachi Porsche qualified fourth just ahead of teammate Jonathon Webb (Glenfords-Makita) in fifth.

A minor pit lane infringement at the end of qualifying saw Davison and Webb lose their fastest qualifying times but, Davison only dropped to second while Webb lost no positions.

The Glenfords-DeWalt car of Davison made a brilliant start in race one alongside pole sitter David Reynolds while Wall settled comfortably into fifth and Webb was stuck on the outside of turn one and was ninth after the start.

Davison kept the pressure on Reynolds as did Wall on Russell, while Webb moved up to eighth, passing Dean Fiore who ran wide onto pit straight.

Wall in the Glenfords-Hitachi GT3 passed Russell at turn one on lap four and moments later Davison gained lead after a brilliant passing move on Reynolds into Forest Elbow, before a Safety Car came out.

The race resumed and in a classic battle to the finish line Davison held of Reynolds and took an outstanding victory with Wall an impressive fourth and the fast finishing Webb in the Glenfords-Makita GT3 seventh.

Jonathon Webb had a full schedule this weekend but didn't disappoint in either car
V8 Supercar commitments for both Davison and Webb saw both run from the V8 cars to their Glenfords Cup Cars for race two.

Davison went into turn one in second at the start and Wall after a strong start was fourth with Webb ninth.

Pressuring Reynolds throughout the race Davison showed better speed, particularly across the difficult top of the mountain, while Webb made quick progress and was soon in eighth.

Russell succumbed to pressure from Wall and touched the wall at the cutting, leaving Wall to coast to another strong finish in fifth place.

Unable to find a way around Reynolds, Davison settled for second place and would head into the final race equal leader on points.

David Wall reclaimed the Rookie of the Year lead today at Bathurst
A brilliant move by Webb on Tony Quinn on the inside of turn one, set up at the prior corner, gave him sixth for race two.

Davison made a blinding start in race three and went side by side with Reynolds around the first turn to set up the inside line for turn two where he took the lead.

Wall held fifth while Webb slotted in behind his team mate, positions they would hold throughout the race.

As the two Glenfords Racing teammates battled throughout the race, Davison up front held the lead until he went off at the end of Conrod Straight but skillfully recovered to hold second.

Closing in on Reynolds, Davison set a new lap record of 2:10.2419 and proceeded to pressure Reynolds.

Wall held off Webb in a classic racing dual between Glenfords Cup Cars to finish fifth and sixth for the round respectively.

Davison threw everything he had and more at Reynolds to claim the lead and round win on the final turn but was unable to stick the brave move and slid off the track before recovering for seventh and third for the round.

Jonathon Webb "It's been a busy weekend but I was happy with the way I adjusted and it has really helped my driving too."

I was behind David (Wall) in the final race and when your team mate is just in front you really want to make sure you don't take each other out but we had a great race at the end which was a lot of fun around this circuit."

David Wall "I'm really happy with the weekend and to come away equal fourth is a great result at this track."
