TEAMMATES SWEEP THE FRONT ROW IN PHILLIP ISLAND QUALIFYING
Under threatening skies, no-one could threaten the pace of HSV teammates Trevor Sheumack and Peter Floyd today in practice and qualifying for the final round of the 2005 Donut King Australian Performance Car Championship at Victoria's Phillip Island.
Championship leader Floyd (BP Ultimate HSV GTS) topped today’s practice session ahead of fellow Victorian resident Sheumack (www.kawasaki-fp.com HSV GTS), before the latter reversed the results and led the way in qualifying.
Sheumack’s time of 1:45.6321 around the 4.48km circuit saw him secure pole position, and earnt himself three championship points. They are points Floyd may well have found handy to extend his 47.5 point championship lead over Garry Holt (Century 21 Real Estate Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII).
