Evangelou dedicates Phillip Island V8 meeting to his injured mother HPDC V8 Supercar driver Tony Evangelou will dedicate his weekend’s racing at Phillip Island to his mother, Dianne, who was injured during a house fire on Wednesday morning. Dexion Racing’s Evangelou will celebrate his 40th birthday on Sunday at the Victorian circuit, but was awoken at 3.30am Wednesday morning with the news that his mother’s residence had burnt down. Dianne was transported to her local hospital with second-degree burns to her hands and arms. Mrs Evangelou also had smoke inhalation. She is currently in a stable condition. |
