Ireland qualifies 3rd for Malaysian A1 Grand Prix of Nations
Ralph Firman heads second row of the grid for A1 Team Ireland
Sepang, Kuala Lumpur, Nov 19th: Ralph Firman has qualified third on the grid for tomorrow’s Malaysian A1 Grand Prix, the A1 Team Ireland driver producing a strong performance on his second qualifying run to give the team its best grid position of the season so far. As torrential rain threatened to interrupt qualifying Ralph was one of the first drivers back out onto the circuit to set a second timed of 1:54.735 and improve on his previous best of 1:55.234. This placed him third on aggregate behind Switzerland and France, a thunderstorm rendering the remainder of qualifying meaningless although A1 Team Ireland completed some laps in the rain to evaluate the car’s wet-weather performance.
