CRAMP QUICK ON FAST FRIDAY AT SYMMONS PLAINS.
STEVE CRAMP has finished Friday’s solitary practice session for the penultimate round of the Donut King Australian Performance Car championship in a fighting fourth position, the CVW Manta Racing team’s best individual session result of the season.
Even more impressively, Cramp was under a tenth of a second from pole position and six tenths faster than fifth place at the Symmons Plains circuit in Tasmania, the circuit once again throwing up close times at the top of the timesheets this weekend.
The encouraging results have come after the team fought hard to actually compete in Tasmania, last minute support from a number of sponsors ensuring that the team made it to the round at what was expected to be a strong track for the team this season - the strong horsepower and power down attributes the CVW Engineering HSV GTS has shown to date perfectly suited to the stop-go nature of the Tasmanian track.
After holding a top two spot for a majority of the session, Cramp was bumped to fourth late in the piece, but said that he was satisfied with the performance.
