THE TEAMS THAT WORK BEHIND THE PERFORMANCE CAR SCENES
Regardless of whether the sport is based around motor or a ball, teams and teamwork are important factors in sports, as they are in life. The teams in the Donut King Australian Performance Car Championship come in many shapes and sizes, featuring a wide range of people, from industry professionals and colleagues, to family members and friends.
Collectively, they keep the well-oiled motorsport machine on the racetracks as part of the hotly contested seven-round championship.
With two rounds remaining in the 2005 Donut King Australian Performance Car Championship, Victorian Peter Floyd (BP Ultimate HSV GTS) currently leads the championship standings over the Lancer’s of Garry Holt (Century 21 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII) and Mark King (Delphi Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII).
Floyd’s setup is similar to many throughout the paddock, with his car preparation and race weekend crew consisting of a member of the Kawasaki Floyd Parkes staff, and two others from other local automotive businesses. Leading the championship, it would be hard to say the system isn’t working.
