Carroll wins as ART wraps up title Adam Carroll has won today’s GP2 series race at Spa Francorchamps as heavy rain and a large accident ended the race on lap 11 of 18. Adam, who also set the fastest lap, was followed home in the final classification by Borja Garcia and Ernesto Viso. Scott Speed is classified fourth, with Nico Rosberg fifth and Juan Cruz Alvarez sixth. With less than 75% of the original race distance completed at the time of the race’s conclusion, half points will be awarded, but ART Grand Prix now have an insurmountable tally in the teams’ championship. >Race Report. For safety reasons the race director decided to start the race behind the safety car. The GP2 series field completed the formation lap and the first tour under these conditions, until they were released at the start of lap two. Adam, who held pole after finishing eighth yesterday, was the only man with a clear view, and made the most of it by putting in a string of fastest laps to pull out a commanding lead.
