A1 Team Ireland to Make Public Debut at Mondello Park
A1 Grand Prix car Joins F3 and GT Cars on Mondello Bill
Mondello Park and A1 Team Ireland are proud to announce the that the first public demonstration of the A1 Team Ireland Grand Prix Car will take place at Mondello Park on Sunday September 18th as part of the Failte Ireland International Race Weekend.
Just one week before the first ever A1 Grand Prix Nations Cup, which takes place at Brands Hatch on Sunday September 25th, the team will demonstrate their A1 Grand Prix car, in front of Irish Motor Racing fans at Mondello Park International circuit.
A1 Team Ireland recently took part in its first A1 Grand Prix test session which took place over three days in Paul Ricard in the south of France. Former Formula One driver Ralph Firman took the A1 Team Ireland Grand Prix Car to a strong third place overall and fastest on the final day from the twenty nations currently signed up to compete in the A1 Grand Prix championship - The World Cup of Motorsport.
A1 Team Ireland will be at the circuit from Sunday morning and fans will be able to get a close look at the car and meet the team during the lunchtime pit lane walkabout.
Mark Gallagher Team Manager A1 Team Ireland said. " We had an ambition to run the A1 Grand Prix car in Ireland before the inaugural season started and it is ideal that we are able to do so at Mondello Park and on such an important weekend for motorsport fans in Ireland. The A1 car looks and sounds terrific so I am certain it will generate enormous interest and produce the support we are looking for in the build up to the first A1 Grand Prix series. To represent Ireland in The World Cup of Motorsport is an honour for the team. I'd also like to thank Mondello Park for its support and assistance in making this memorable outing possible."
Speaking of A1 Team Irelands appearance at Mondello Mondello Park Managing director John Morris said. "Its fantastic for Irish Motorsport that A1 team Ireland are giving fans this opportunity to see them in action on home soil. We are delighted to be involved on this historic occasion and hope that Irish motor racing fans come down to the F3 & GT event and show their support for the team"
