The World’s Number One Road Racing Magazine ‘Motorcycle Racer’ will be represented in force at the final round of
the Bennetts British Superbike Championship which takes place at Brands
Hatch this weekend (September 29th to October 1st).
In addition to exhibiting in the main shopping mall with the eye
catching ‘Racer’ sales unit and gorgeous ‘Racer Babes’, one of the
magazine’s main Editorial contributors, Rob Hoyles, will be in action
on the track in the Virgin Mobile Cup.
38 year old ‘Hoylesey’ doesn’t quite fit with the youthful theme of the
series but has been granted a ride courtesy of series boss Rob McElnea,
and will be including a report in a forthcoming issue of the magazine
as part of his ‘Project R6’ series which has seen him build his own
bike and climb from novice to national status within a year.
“I’m excited and nervous in equal proportions as this will be the
biggest meeting of my life” said the veteran journo. “I won’t be racing
for points or prize money and hopefully, I can give a good account of
myself against the youngsters.”
There will be a number of stars of BSB visiting the stand over the
course of the weekend to take part in photograph and autograph sessions
including Michael Rutter, Jonathan Rea and Ollie Bridewell as well as
the opportunity to meet Editor and BSB pit lane reporter Larry ‘Scoop’
Carter and i-Racer Editor Rob Hoyles.
There will be the current issue (88) on sale featuring exclusive
interviews with Valentino Rossi, Jonathan Rea, Roby Rolfo and many
others and there will be a special deal on subscriptions over the
course of the weekend too.
Times of autograph signings will be announced by Fred Clarke over the circuit PA.
Also, remember to come along to the inaugural Motorcycle Racer
Magazine-supported ‘Fred & Scoop’s Charity Chat Show’ in aid of the
Chris Jones Memorial Fund, which takes place at 7.45pm at the Brands
Hatch Thistle Hotel on Friday 29th September and features top starts
Ryuichi Kiyonari, Leon Haslam, Karl Harris, Tommy Hill and Jonathan
Rea. (Admission £8.00 on the door)
There will be the CJMF auction taking place at the Adrenalin X Building
on both Saturday (30th September) and Sunday (1st October) commencing
at 6.30pm each evening and with over 100 lots of genuine and valuable
motorsport memorabilia up for grabs, it is certainly an event not to be
missed. Full details of all the auction lots will be printed in the
official programme at Brands Hatch this weekend.
