Donut King Australian Performance Car Championship on the Airwaves and Newsstands of the Nation
Fans of the Donut King Australian Performance Car Championship have some extra ways to get their fix in the coming week, as the series prepares for its next round of the championship at Oran Park.
This Sunday at 2pm, check your local guides, the series takes to the airwaves on Trackside, Network 10, where fans can check out the action from round four of the series from Hidden Valley Raceway in the Northern Territory.
The weekend featured great racing throughout three races in the Top End, which was the first time many of the drivers had ever raced on the Darwin circuit.
Peter Floyd entered the weekend with momentum from a winning round at Eastern Creek and second place in the championship under his belt. The HSV’s and FPV’s went into the weekend looking to showcase their strength down the long straight, but could the four wheel drive Lancer’s do enough around the back part of the circuit to see them at the top end of the field?
If that isn’t enough, two of Australia’s most popular publications will feature the category in their new issues.
Australian Muscle Car Magazine is revered among motoring enthusiasts for its dedication to covering all things, well, Australian muscle cars.
In the July/August issue, which hit the newsstands earlier in the week, the magazine takes a look at some of the new generation muscle cars the FPV MkII of Team GT and the HSV GTS from CVW Manta Racing, which race in the Donut King Australian Performance Car Championship.
Another publication fresh off the presses this week, issue 3 of Street Ford Magazine also takes a look at the championship, after spending some time with Team GT at the Wakefield Park round of the championship.
The result is a fascinating behind the scenes look at the operation of the team during the weekend.
With three rounds to go, the battle for the 2005 Donut King Australian Performance resumes on August 12-14 at Oran Park Raceway, near Sydney.
