UK based Venezuelan Rodolfo Gonzalez has been voted top Inter-American Racing Driver of 2006. The was organised by FIPA (Federación Interamericana de Periodistas del Automóvil) with votes coming from motorsport journalists from 18 countries in North South and Latin America.
In 2006 Gonzalez won the British F3 National Class championship with 14 wins during his victorious season.
The top 6 in the voting were:

Gonzalez was extremely flattered and commented “This prize means a lot
to me, because it was chosen by journalist experts on motorsport from
18 different countries of central America, South America and North

So to be in front of drivers like Bourdais, Massa and Bruno Senna is great and is certainly very unexpected.”
For 2007 Gonzalez is weighting up his options but is likely to step-up to Championship class in British F3.
