Drew-Evans Motorsport Group (DEmg) will make their motor racing debut in 2007, campaigning in Formula 3 Racing in Asia.
DEmg team owners Gerard Drew & Joshua Evans, who have extensive experience in motor sport, both in Australia and overseas, will campaign at least one Dallara F304 chassis in the highly competitive open wheeler series.
The Asian F3 Pacific Series & Asian F3 Series allow young
drivers to gather experience and develop their motor racing skills, and
provides a stepping stone to progress into open wheeler racing in Japan
and Europe.
Team co-owner Gerard Drew is thrilled that DEmg will be competing in the extremely competitive Asian F3 series.
“The Asian Formula 3 series always provides fantastic racing.” Drew
said. “The drivers are young, fast and very talented and they come from
all over the world to compete in this series. We have been looking at
entering the AF3 series for some time now, and after witnessing the
racing and the professionalism of the series – the decision was easy.”
Fellow team owner and former Australian A1 team member, Joshua Evans,
is confident the team will be able to throw out a challenge to their
competitors, despite it being their first season in competition.
“Gerard and I are very excited about entering into Asian Formula 3
racing in 2007”, Evans said. “The series is very competitive and we
realize it will be a great challenge to be on the pace right away, but
our team have a wealth of experience in various aspects of the motor
racing industry and we believe that once we find our feet, we will be
able to achieve some strong results in the coming season.”
The 2007 Asian F3 Pacific Series is as follows:
Rounds 1-3, January 20-21, Zhuhai Circuit, China
Rounds 4-6, March 15-18, Melbourne F1 GP
Rounds 7-8, April 21-22, Oran Park, Sydney
