Queenslander Jonathan Grant will continue his partnership with bf racing and race a Van Diemen in the National Formula Ford Championship this year. Grant, with the help of Brett Francis, had a strong showing in the 2006 Queensland Formula Ford Championship where he finished a close runner-up in his rookie season.
An excited Grant commented that 2007 is no doubt going to be a challenge.
“I can’t wait to be a part of the National Championship this year. We’ve given ourselves every chance to have a successful campaign but aren’t underestimating the challenge ahead.”
As a relative unknown and newcomer to motor racing, Grant hopes to
capitalise on his speed and consistency to impress the V8Supercar team
bosses who cast their eye over the Formula Ford races at each event.
“I think we’re going to surprise a few people this year”, Grant commented.
Grant will balance his racing duties with his professional life as one
of Australia’s leading Mercedes-Benz Salesman at the ‘State of the Art’
Centenary Classic dealership in Brisbane.
“It’s certainly going to be a busy year but we’ve got support from all
corners to help make it work. I can’t express how grateful I am to
everyone who has helped put this together especially my sponsors.”
The bf racing Van Diemen RF06, will carry sponsorship from a range of companies including:
Centenary Classic – The Experience Centre
Printpoint – Australia’s leading waterless printing company.
Refund Home Loans – Right Loan, Right Lender, Right Now!
Weldalloy – Manufacturer of Pig’s TailTM Protective Wrapping
Eagle Smash Repairs – Brisbane
“They’ve helped me achieve my dreams which is more valuable than I can describe.”
The team will be completing numerous test days in the coming weeks in readiness for the season opening Adelaide 500.
