16 year old Jessica Brannam received her 30th Karting Championship Trophy at the International Racing Association’s Annual Awards Banquet on Feb. 10 in Gurnee, Illinois.
Brannam said, “ Once all of my funding is secured I am looking forward
to testing in Star Mazda. A big thanks to my parents and also Dave
Larson, who has always been there for me.”
Brannam, a finalist in The Red Bull Driver Search in 2005, has already
successfully tested in a Formula Renault. Her karting record is an
impressive one with more than four (4) undefeated WKA and IRA Seasons
among the overall 30 Championships in only 6 years.
Brannam said, “ The transition for any driver from Karting to Formula
can be a trying experience. My management team is working hard to find
all of the required sponsorship and we are making progress. The plan is
for me to do extensive testing before I actually get into a Star Mazda
race, but I’ll be ready when that happens.”
Rounding out another great year of racing, the young and talented
driver also won her first feature Mini-Sprint Main Event at Wilmot
Speedway in Illinois.
