Fans of Australian racer Marcos Ambrose will have the rare opportunity to capture a unique slice of motorsports history with the Tasmanian auctioning his first pair of NASCAR Craftsman Truck race gloves from last season.
The exciting news comes hot on the heels of Ambrose’s exciting build up towards his debut NASCAR Busch Series race, driving the #59 Kingsford Charcoal Ford Fusion at the Daytona International Motor Speedway on February 14-17.
The prized gloves were worn by the Charlotte-based Wood Brothers/JTG Racing driver for the majority of last season, which also included his groundbreaking third place finish at Kansas and his first-ever pole at Kentucky in July 2006.
The blue Puma gloves are both autographed and will be packaged together
with two 6x4-inch action shots of Ambrose’s Team Australia/Aussie
Vineyards Ford F-150 truck.
“These are the gloves that I broke into NASCAR with and I’m sure they will look great in a fan’s collection,” said Ambrose
“The overall interest from fans in previous auction items has been
overwhelming and has inspired me to offer more items up for grabs this
year.”
In even greater news for fans, Ambrose is intent on giving his
supporters further opportunities to share in his second year ride on
the NASCAR trial by offering up even more personalised pieces
throughout the year.
With a strong following at home in Australia plus his adopted homeland
in the United States and right throughout the world the auctions are
just one small way the Busch Series rookie can give back to his loyal
band of fans.
The auction will close at midnight on Thursday March 15 – Australian
Eastern Daylight Savings time – 8am Thursday, March 15 – US Eastern.
To bid for items being offered, fans need to head to MarcosAmbrose.com,
click on the auction section, register and then make a bid. All final
bids are in Australian dollars and will include, postage, packing and
handling.
This means that there will be some even greater deals for Ambrose’s new
US-based fans who will only be paying approximately $US.078 for every
Australian dollar bid.
There is also a currency converter on the bid site so US fans can do an easy conversion.
Winning bidders will be able to make direct debit directly in an
Australian-based account and once funds have cleared items will be
shipped directly.
