Tom Bradshaw is out to live up to his reputation as one of the UK's brightest racing stars after signing for the 2007 Formula Palmer Audi Championship.
Bradshaw, 17, rose to prominence in his first season of car racing last year by winning the North West Formula Ford title for older Kent machinery. Now stepping up to a 300bhp turbocharged machine for an exhilarating 20-race campaign, the Blackburn teenager goes into 2007 with only one aim.
"I'm going out to win the championship, but there's a lot of quick
drivers out there," said Tom, ahead of the season opener at Silverstone
this Easter. Tom is particularly looking forward to returning to his
local circuit Oulton Park for FPA in August, a circuit at which he was
so successful last season. "Oulton's an absolutely brilliant circuit,
and it'll be a privilege to drive such a powerful car on such an
amazing track."
Despite his obvious talent on the racetrack, Tom hasn't been quite as
successful off it in recent weeks. Earlier this month Tom failed his
first attempt at his road test after passing through a traffic light on
amber. "I've got another test arranged for next week, so fingers
crossed for that. I'd hate to go into the racing season having failed
on the road twice, so I'm all up for getting it right this time!"
