Perez Powers To Sunseeker Second |

VK Vodka Kick rally driver Steve Perez repeated his success of last year by finishing runner up on Rallye Sunseeker today.
Driving the VK Vodka Kick Ford Focus WRC, the 2004 ANCRO National Champion made a great start to his 2007 Hankook MSA Gravel Rally Championship campaign as he and Berwickshire co driver Claire Mole held second place overnight.
But despite his best efforts the Chesterfield driver couldn't match the
pace of local ace Marcus Dodd (Hyundai Accent WRC) who took his fifth
Rallye Sunseeker victory, but still Perez was delighted with his second
place.
"We had a mixed day really but I'm happy to finish second again and all
credit to Marcus - he drove a blinder. It's a great way to start the
Championship but what has pleased me the most is I've beaten Paul Bird
which is what I really came for. The deal is he's buying the champagne
tonight and the bragging rights until the next round will simply be
priceless" said Perez.
The next round of the Hankook GRC is the Brick and Steel Border Counties Rally on March 24th.
