Round one of the popular North East Motor Cycle Racing Club championship series gets the 2007 circuit racing season underway at Croft Circuit near Darlington in just two weeks time with another capacity field set to battle out the various classes.
Following a successful 2006 season, the action will again be fast and furious as riders aim to blow off the winter cobwebs in style around the full international 2.127 mile circuit.
As usual there is a healthy Scottish contingent entered and the marauders from North of the border who are expected to challenge for major honours include Rab Davie and Dave Clelland whereas world sidecar championship contender Andy Laidlow from Appleby will be the man to beat on three wheels.
But the locals aren’t likely to be giving any quarter to the Scotsmen and expect the likes of Durham riders Dave Bell (Chester le Street) and Keith Taylor (Crook) to take some beating with another Manx Grand Prix winner in the shape of Ian Pattinson also in action.
There are classes for F125, Classics, Sound of Thunder, Forgotten Era and Minitwins as well as the usual popular categories for Sidecars, F600, F400 and Open class bikes.
Practice gets underway at 9.30 on Saturday with racing from 11.30 and the action starts at noon on Sunday. Adult admission is just £10.00 on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted FREE on both days.
