The Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) has won the prestigious “Competition Club of the Year” award which was presented at the recent International Historic Motorsport Race Retro show held at Stoneleigh Park near Coventry.
From a strong list of nominations it is the second time the club has won this award, the first was in 2003.
The club’s executive director Grahame White said “We are absolutely
delighted to have won this award particularly as we have just completed
our 40th anniversary year in record style. We have organised more race
meetings than ever before, including the Brands Hatch Superprix, Oulton
Park Gold Cup, and Silverstone Classic plus a support race for the
British Grand Prix, and the racing part of the Tour Britannia. Race
entries were at an all time high and so was our membership, so to win
this award was a perfect way to round of an excellent season.”
The HSCC is the UK’s premier historic race organizing club with offices
based at the Silverstone race circuit in Northamptonshire. It has a
very busy race meeting calendar planned for 2007 starting at Donington
Park on Sunday 15th April.
