Harvey Heads For Birthday Charge In Spain PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 06 April 2007
harveyitalian073Lincolnshire karting star Jack Harvey will head to the Spanish circuit of Zuera next weekend (April 14/15), with the intention of taking the lead of the KF3 class of the Winning Series of Karting.

The Lincoln Minster School pupil will go for glory in an effort to close the gap to the leaders in the European series. The works Maranello Kart racer will be heading to the meeting on a high, after taking victory at the recent opening round of the Italian Open championship and is keen to continue visiting the top step of the podium.

“I’m looking forward to the race weekend at Zuera,” he said. “I’ve had some really good results so far this season and I want to keep the momentum going and bring back even more silverware. I’ve never been to the track before but that doesn’t worry me as, every new circuit I’ve been to this season we’ve gone really well and the team has done a great job.”

“I just want a really good meeting so that I can get back onto terms at the sharp end of the points. I’m currently fifth after the poor first final at Sarno in round one. I’m pretty confident I can move up and get another good result by the time I leave Spain on Sunday evening,” he added.

While he’s in the thick of competition, Jack will also be celebrating his 14th birthday. However, he’s aiming to keep his partying to a minimum until he gets back from the race weekend.

“I think I’ll be waiting until I get back to the UK before I have any major celebrations,” he smiled. “Obviously, it will be nice to have my birthday while I’m there, but I’m going to be keeping all my focus on my racing over the weekend,” he added.

Jack will take to the track on Friday for free practice and testing before the heats get underway on Saturday, with the two main finals on Sunday.
