Tuesday, 17 April 2007
British youngster Adam Carroll has confirmed he will take part in one of the world’s toughest sports car championships - DTM.

Racing for Team Futurecom-TME alongside Vanina Ickx, Adam will make his DTM debut in the 2005 Audi A4 in the colours of sponsor Ethos Organics and Castrol-Edge.

Of the announcement Adam said, “I’m really looking forward to my first race in DTM. Testing has been going well and I enjoy working with the team. The first race next week at Hockenheim will be the real test to see how competitive we are.  I want to be running as high up the grid as possible in the 2005 car.  I just can’t wait to get racing.”

Adam has been a respected force in single-seater racing throughout his career, with three wins in the GP2 series at some of toughest circuits in the world; Imola, Monaco and Spa.  In 2005 he was also part of the BAR (now Honda F1) Young Driver programme and tested the F1 car successfully on a number of occasions.

Team Principal Dr Colin Kolles said of the announcement, “Besides his achievements in motor sport it should also be mentioned that Adam is a strong character who fits in well with the team. With his experience, he’ll surely help us to improve. We are all looking forward to a new exciting season and enjoyable teamwork

The first event of the ten round series starts next weekend at Hockenheim, (22 April).  DTM also races in Italy, the Netherlands and at Brands Hatch in the UK which will be Adam’s home race of the season, (10 June).
