Skelta Shines At Targa Tasmania PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 20 April 2007
The Queensland designed and built Skelta G-Force, being driven by Tooowoomba’s Ray Vandersee, was head and shoulders above the opposition on day two of Targa Tasmania winning four outright stages of the opening eight and clearing a further two.

The bitter sweet reality that Vandersee’s self designed sports car may have been capable of taking overall honours this year has been well and truly rammed home today.

Despite being out of contention for overall spoils after rear suspension dramas yesterday, the Queenslander has delivered on his promise to maintain an assault like approach.

Prior to the lunch break there were five stages completed with Vandersee and Adelaide co-driver Jahmeil Taylor nailing two outright successes (Weldborough Pass Long, St Mary’s Pass), coupled with a clearing of the Legerwood stage under base time and an equal second on Moorina.

Those efforts proved a prelude to a total domination this afternoon where the duo has mastered quickest times at Elephant Pass and Cranbrook, plus clearing the base time at Triabunna.

Undefeated across five straight stages has the team in great spirits as they go into tonight’s historic first ever night-time Targa Tasmania stage at Glenorchy.

Targa Tasmania is considered one of the toughest races of its kind where vehicles are this year required to cover more than 2000 kilometres, including 450 competition kilometres over 42 stages.

Skelta Sports Cars has a stock of comprehensive promotional DVDs that outline the original concepts, engineering and overall performance capabilities of this unique Australian made sports car.

The DVDs are available for immediate distribution to interested parties free of charge.

Potential purchasers and enthusiasts of Queensland’s Skelta G-Force, that retails for around $134 000, are asked to book their DVD directly through Vandersee via email at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it A postal address must be advised.
