F3000 Event In Misano Cancelled As FIA Homologation Is Still Pending PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 30 April 2007
The second round of the Euroseries 3000 which was scheduled to take place next week-end in Misano has been canceled as the F.I.A. has not issued the international homologation to the Italian circuit which has undergone several modifications during the winter. Coloni Motorsport was informed today of the fact and could do nothing more than informing the teams that the event was canceled.

Enzo Coloni has stated: “The Euroseries 3000 is an international Series and therefore has to comply to F.I.A. requirements. We totally respect the decision taken by the International Federation. We are only sorry that the very late notice we received caused many problems to both the teams and the TV channels which already had the two F.3000 races in their programme schedule (live broadcasting was planned in Italy and in the Arab countries). Anyway we intend to reschedule the event and we are already working on a suitable date.”

Maurizio Damerini, Misano Circuit director: “We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience and therefore, in order to apologize to the F.3000 teams for the trouble we have unintentionally caused, we will place the track at their disposal at the end of the season when we are sure that all the homologation problems will be solved.”

Marco Ferrari, C.S.A.I. Sporting Activities director: “We have been informed of the matter by the F.I.A. on the 27th April and we have promptly discussed the matter with the event organizer and then with Coloni Motorsport. We could do nothing else than canceling the F.3000 races in Misano as they are entered in the International Series calendar and therefore need an international circuit homologation. Nothing has changed for the other championships scheduled for the week-end as they are entered in the national calendar and only need the national homologation which has been normally issued by the C.S.A.I.”
