Lincolnshire karting star Jack Harvey will head back to the Italian circuit of La Conca next weekend as he aims to try and move to the head of the points in the KF3 class of the Winning Series of Karting (WSK) European championship.
The Lincoln Minster School pupil currently lies fourth in the standings after two rounds of the series. However, after taking the lead against his rivals in the Italian Open series, Jack is keen to stamp his authority on the WSK grid too and a return to a track he’s driven before will be a bonus for the factory Maranello Kart driver.
“I’d definitely like to come back from La Conca with the lead of the
WSK series. But I know it’s going to be a hard weekend. It’s a very
tough championship and a bad heat or poor qualifying result will make
it all the harder,” said Jack.
A string of fantastic results has got the youngsters season off to a
flying start. But, he’s aware that there is still a long way to go
before the end of the season and he is concentrating on getting the
best result he possibly can every time he takes to the track.
“So far everything has been going really well for me, though,” he
added. “The Maranello team is working extremely hard and every time I’m
going out on track, we’re right at the sharp end of the grid, which is
where we obviously want to be. If I can keep putting the consistent
results together the rest of the season will hopefully continue as it’s
started. But, I know it’s going to be tough,” said Jack.
The weekend marks the start of a hectic period in Jack’s racing
calendar, with seven race meetings over the next two months. He will
get his WSK campaign back underway on Friday with free practice, before
qualifying and the heats on Saturday, with the all important points
scoring finals on Sunday.
