Increasing entries in all classes and the need to accommodate a greater number of championships have led to the extension of this weekends IMRC run race meeting at Mondello Park to two days. Some of the qualifying sessions for Sunday's races will now take place on Saturday afternoon leaving just four sessions for Sunday morning and a very early start to racing which will get under way at 11:00.
Formula Libre continues to be the crowd pleaser at Mondello Park and
this weekend sees yet another new high profile entry into the
championship. Former Formula Ford racer and Hillclimber Donal Griffin
gives his Reynard 90D a long awaited debut adding to further to the
potential race winners in the class. The class is likely to provide the
biggest grid of the day with entry numbers currently in the high
twenties and growing.
Another class where the machinery is improving all the time is the
Porsche Open championship and the exotic Sportscar's return this
weekend for a double header led by the growing GT3 ranks. Formula
Sheane Rover, Global lights, Stryker Sports Cars and the Abarth Cup
will all race twice on Sunday with Formula Vee and the combined Fiat
Punto and Uno championships racing once in the fourteen race programme.
