BARC Speediest Heads For Croft |

More top quality car racing heads for Croft Circuit this weekend (May 19/20th) with another action packed race weekend organised by the British Automobile Racing Club Ltd.
No less than seventeen races will be contested around the North’s premier race track over the two day meeting which comprises rounds of a number of national as well as local championships.
The Legends Cars series reaches round four of the series and the first
of six outings for the 5/8th size sedan replicas gets proceedings
underway on Saturday afternoon with Yorkshireman Peter Morton from
Cleckheaton at the head of the championship standings but local driver
Chris Grieve from Hexham will be looking for a maximum points haul as
he defends the title he won last year.
In the Formula Renault Championship, 22 year old Derbyshire driver
Hywel Lloyd took victory in the opening round at Donington Park and
will be looking for a repeat dose in North Yorkshire Didcot’s Ian
Pearson will be looking to consolidate his lead in the club class in
his Tatuus RC 98.
Drivers in the BOOKATRACK.com Caterham Classic Graduate Championship
get three outings and Trevor Newman will be hoping to keep his winning
start going after taking a double victory at Pembrey last time out as
will Surrey’s Paul Poulter who defends a maximum points haul in the
Pickup Truck Championship in his Vauxhall.
In addition, there are two rounds of the Mazda-based MAX5 Championship
that sees Jonathan Greensmith lead the series by a single point and the
ever popular DDMC-organised Northern Sports and Saloon Car Championship
will see the cars in action for two races on Saturday.
Practice gets underway at 09.30 on Saturday with the first of seven
races scheduled to start at 15.00 with Sunday’s action seeing ten races
starting at 12.25. Adult admission is just £10 each day with
accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted FREE.
