EuroBOSS to Headline Busy Mondello Weekend PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 05 September 2006
The fantastic sight and sound of Formula One, Formula 3000 and Dallara's World Series cars will be the highlight of the very busy 'Leinster Trophy' programme at Mondello Park. Sharing the spotlight will be the first public run for A1 Team Irelands new driver line-up and Livery, and the Leinster Trophy race for an International field of Formula Ford cars.

The EuroBOSS grid will see a fifteen car grid which includes the series regulars and a healthy entry of local drivers. Formula One machinery from Benetton, Ascari, Simtek, Arrows and Coloni will be joined by a pair of Dallara Nissan World Series cars and the Irish F3000 contingent for two races, a short 15 minute race on Saturday and the main 25 minute feature on Sunday.

A1 Team Ireland will bring their yet to be announced '06/'07 driver lineup to the circuit fresh from their launch on Friday to perform a demo run on both days. The team will also be on display in during Sunday's lunch time Pit Walkabout along with the EuroBOSS cars.

In recognition of it's continuing revival, the Formula Ford category will race for the prestigious 'Leinster Trophy' for the second year in a row. A large contingent of Southern and Northern Irish drivers and a handful of UK racers will battle it out to join the likes of Ayrton Senna and Mika Hakkinen in lifting the famous trophy while also racing for points in three irish championships.

The twenty race programme takes place over two days and will see most of the National Irish championships settled. Titles are still up for grabs in most of the series and with double headers the order of the day there is still along way to go for many title aspirants.
