AIM Autosport has released driver Daniel Morad of Markham, Ont., from his 2007 agreement, allowing the young driver to accept a promising opportunity with another Formula BMW USA Championship team. Morad will join EuroInternational, starting with this week's season-opening races at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.
Morad raced the No. 70 AIM Autosport Formula BMW FB2 race car to 2006 Formula BMW USA rookie-of-the-year honours and the top North-American finish (fourth) at the Formula BMW World Final 2006. EuroInternational has purchased his AIM BMW, so he will continue in a strong seat this year. His AIM crew chief, Scott Styler, will work with him this weekend.
AIM co-owner Keith Willis has moved from management of the team's
Formula BMW effort to its Star Mazda Championship team. Willis will
oversee preparation of the No. 33 Discovery Channel Canada Pro Formula
Mazda driven by Devin Cunningham of St-Bruno, Qué., and the No. 35
Mazda of Natacha Gachnang of St-Gingolph, Switzerland.
"Daniel had a great opportunity presented to him, so we couldn't hold
him back," Willis said. "I wish I could be there with him, but I need
to concentrate on the Formula Mazda team with our new driver, Natacha."
