Ivor McCullough triumphed on Saturday 26th August 2006 at Kirkistown. This was Ivor’s second race of the season since coming out of a lengthy 3yr period of retirement.
A very wet track Saturday morning made for a very interesting line-up for Heat One of the MDT at Kirkistown. Ivor was up against some well recognised names within the racing world however this did not dampen his spirits. Ivor managed to take pole position for heat 1 giving him a great start to a fantastic day’s racing.
Ivor was competing for a prize test in Comtec’s World Series by Renault car valued at approximately £15000.
In the final Ivor eventually emerged in front and held off Dempsey and Loane to the flag. Ivor commented
“That was hard work,” he said. “It was the best race I’ve ever driven
and I’ve driven a fair few now! Morgan and Kris are good clean drivers
and it was great racing against them. I’m delighted to take the win.”
