The Shannons Australian Production Car Championship moves to Queensland Raceway this weekend for round three with series leader Garry Holt and his BMW 335i Turbo set to atone for a disappointing last round at Phillip Island by again establishing themselves at the category’s top dog.

As well as aspiring for outright gold, Holt will have to battle his fellow Super Production (SP) class rivals like team mate Barry Morcom, and the second round winning HSV Commodore of Leigh Mertens while James Parish joins them in the SP Trophy (no outright points for older cars) Mazda RX7.

The other major battle looming is in the very competitive Class A – the fast class before the introduction of SP at the beginning of this year. There are two Holden Commodore SS’ with Garth Walden and Steve Briffa expected to renew their great struggle of last round while also fending off the challengers of Luke Searle’s BMW 130i and the XR8 Ford Falcon of Chris Delfsma.

Class B comprises the Mini Cooper S of Trevor Keene and the Trophy BMW 323i with Mike Fitzgerald which was a race winner at Phillip Island in the hands of MOTOR magazine editor of Tim Robson.
