Bassingham karting star, Jack Harvey, heads to the French circuit of Salbris next weekend looking for a return to the top step of the podium to put his challenge for the Winning Series of Karting back on track.
The Lincoln Minster School pupil currently lies fourth in the points of the European wide series and he is aware that he needs to score a good haul of points over the weekend to be in with a chance of lifting the title.
“I need to go out to France and win in both finals, really,” said Jack.
“I need a couple of good results in the point-scoring finals with my
rivals ahead of me in the championship to have an average meeting to
put me back in contention,” he added.
The circuit will be another one that Jack has no prior knowledge of.
However, this doesn’t phase him as he has excelled at tracks he’s never
visited before since the start of the season. In readiness for the
tough task ahead of him he has also upped his training sessions.
“I’ve never been to Salbris before, but I’ve been told it’s one of the
best karting circuits in the world. I’ve had brilliant results at new
circuits so far this season, so I’m hoping that I can repeat that
success at the weekend.”
“I know that it is going to be a hard meeting, though. I’m going to
fight hard all weekend and get the best results I possibly can to keep
myself in the hunt for the WSK title,” he said.
