Kent kart racer, James Dixon, is aiming for a pair of podium finishes next weekend (June 2/3), as he aims to move himself up the championship table in the latest round of the Winning Series of Karting at the French circuit of Salbris.
The 17 year-old Candy Carriers backed star is aware that with just two rounds left to run in the European series, the KF2 class title may be beyond his reach. However, he knows that a good haul of points this weekend will move him up and a place in the top three may still be on the cards.
Although he has never raced at the French venue before, James has taken
podium results in the series already this season and knows what it
takes to run at the front and is confident that the JRP Racing team and
the Maranello chassis can put him where he needs to be.
“I want to get as many points as possible out of the two finals on
Sunday,” said James. “I know that the title is probably out of reach
for me now. It’s the penultimate round this weekend and I want to get
myself as far up the table as I can in the remaining two rounds.”
“I’ve never been to the Salbris circuit before. But, I’m extremely
confident in the team and the kit under me. I will just need to keep
out of trouble over the course of the weekend and pick up the best
results that I can.”
James will start his weekend attack on the circuit on Friday in free
practice, before qualifying and the heats on Saturday. The two finals
will take place on Sunday.
