Doncaster - Lime Rock qualifying PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 29 May 2007
Doncaster Racing will start the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series GT race at Lime Rock Park from 13th on the 23-car grid. Mark Wilkins of Toronto left his usual seat in the No. 61 AIM Autosport Daytona Prototype to drive the No. 17 MineStar / Tim Hortons Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car with his father Greg, also of Toronto.

Mark has handled all pre-race track duties this weekend, qualifying in 55.216 seconds on the 1.53-mile Connecticut road course. He will drive the first stint of the two-hour 30-minute race on Monday, followed by Greg.

"I'm very excited to have an opportunity to race with my dad again! We are continuing to work on the setup and trying to get the car dialed in," Mark said.

"It's a big learning experience for me – I haven't been in this car in quite some time. I think there's some time in myself and there's some time in the car. We've been struggling a little bit trying to get the speed up, but we're continuing to work on it and we've made big gains since we got here. I'm confident we'll have a really good race car. All the Doncaster guys, as always, are doing a great job."
