Tielemans Top Of N.Technology Drivers PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 03 June 2007
N .Technology fought hard all the way in today’s crucial qualifying session for round seven of the FIA World Touring Car Championship in Pau, France.

The team always knew that this weekend would be difficult following their double victory in Valencia, Spain and were therefore prepared for a battle. The session was fraught with incidents thanks to the circuit’s narrow streets but the Italian team still managed to qualify their Alfa Romeo 156 in respectable 11th and 13th position.

Olivier Tielemans put in a fastest time of 1:22.865 and will start tomorrow’s race in P11 ahead of team-mate James Thompson who posted a time of 1:22.952, putting him in 13th place.

Andrea Muller, Team Manager “We will have to see if the classification stays as it is, I think that at least two drivers are under investigation ahead of us so we might benefit from that. Otherwise, we pushed hard today, qualifying is important here as we all know. Tielemans posted a really good time, it’s a good improvement for him.”

Olivier Tielemans, car number 16 “There’s a chance I might start in the top ten tomorrow but 11th is still pretty good. It was my birthday yesterday so I would love a chance to celebrate with a points finish!”

James Thompson, car number 15 “I had a puncture, followed by yellow flags so in all I only got one run at qualifying. I’m still midfield but with little overtaking possible here, this isn’t where I wanted to be. Perhaps there will be incidents tomorrow that I can take advantage of…we’ll have to see.”
