ADVAN Supports Dutch Courage PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 03 June 2007
Netherlands’ Chris van der Drift pushed his Yokohama ADVAN all the way in today's International Formula Master (IFM) race and the Dutchman's courage paid off with a stunning win.

Round three of the Series was an action-filled 35 minutes with more than 32 overtaking manoeuvres throughout the race as IFM's young racers tried to edge their way through the field.

Pole-setter Maximilian Goetz lost out to Italy's Luca Persiani at the start of the race but the German fought his way back to a second-place finish after Persiani crashed out of the race in spectacular fashion on the pit straight.

Race winner Chris van der Drift made the most of the ADVAN's phenomenal grip by overtaking car after car, winning the race after starting it in seventh position.

"I was really surprised by how close you can get to other cars around here," said the J.D. Motorsport driver. "The tyres just stuck to the road, it wasn't even something that I had to worry about. Normally I would be careful around such a narrow circuit but the cars and the tyres were working so well together that I was able to just go for it."

Second place went to ISR's Maximilian Goetz with Cram Competition's Jerome D'Ambrosio claiming third place. Yokohama Europe Marketing Manager Kazuyoshi Sekiguchi followed the race closely and said: “After watching today’s race, I am confident that there can be no questions of the durability and consistence of our ADVAN product.”
