Nick Percat is working with Team BRM this weekend at the Mallala F3 round. He will join the team for the remainder of the Formula Ford Championship.

Team BRM is pleased to announce that young South Australian driver Nick Percat has joined the team to contest the remainder of the Australian Formula Ford Championship.

Following the departure of Paul Pittam from the team Percat will drive the #16 Walkinshaw Performance Van Diemen RF06 for the remainder of the year with the aim of race and round wins.

Percat currently sits in sixth place in the championship and has a best overall result of second, at Winton, two months ago.

Current Team BRM driver John Magro remains with the team to drive the #10 Unit Clothing entry.

Percat lapped underneath the existing lap record when he tested for Team BRM last weekend giving the team confidence that he will be a leading contender when the partnership commences at Queensland Raceway in July.

Nick is currently working with team BRM’s Formula 3 team this weekend at Mallala raceway in South Australia in an effort to learn the team operations and the people within it.

”We are delighted to have been able to secure someone with the calibre and speed Nick has,” Team BRM Formula Ford Manager Mark Rundle said.

”Team BRM is looking forward to working with Nick as we push forward to win races and continue his charge at the front of the Australian Formula Ford Championship.

”I believe Nick can show that Team BRM can compete at the very front of the pack regularly.

”We also look forward to giving Nick the opportunity to test one of our Formula 3 cars later on this season.” He said.

Percat said he too was keen to win races with Team BRM.

”It’s good to be joining team BRM,” he said.

”I’m looking forward to working with the team and having a different approach to the racing. I believe that the Van Diemen chassis is more suited to my driving style and the way I want to be able to drive the car.

”I’m looking forward to competing with them at Queensland Raceway and running at the front of the field."

The next round of the Australian Formula Ford Championship will be held at Queensland raceway will be held between July 20 – 22.
