Manor Competition’s next competitive action will
come this weekend, 25th/26th August, at the Nurburgring in Germany for the
latest round of the North European Formula Renault Championship (NEC) – the
team’s first ever appearance in the category.
Running Alexander Sims at the
event, hopes are high for a very successful outing.
Co-team owner Sarah Shaw, meanwhile, will return to her secondary role for
the weekend as race engineer for Formula Renault BARC title contender Hywel
Lloyd during the ninth and 10th rounds of the category’s season at Brands Hatch
Indy Circuit on 26th/27th August, the meeting taking place over the Bank
Holiday.
Manor’s next Formula Renault UK Championship action will come three weeks
from now on 8th/9th September at the squad’s ‘home’ venue, Donington Park in
Leicestershire, marking the second visit of the season to the famous track.
Rounds 17 and 18 however, will take place on the full Grand Prix layout.
Away from its regular slot on the British Touring Car Championship package,
this event will see Formula Renault UK race as support to the British round of
the pan-European World Series by Renault category with over 100,000 spectators
expected to attend over the weekend. Pre-event testing will take place on
Wednesday, 5th September.
