FORMULA 3000 COMES TO NURBURGRING PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 23 August 2007
The Nürburgring track will host the fifth round of Euroseries 3000, which in Germany begins the second half of the season.
Several paddock moves characterized the preparations to the German races. The Brazilian Luiz Razia went from Fisichella Motor Sport to Elk Motorsport. Bruno Michieli and Ernesto Catella's team, having confirmed the Moroccan Mehdi Bennani, came to Germany also with the rookie, Manuel Saez Merino, 19-years-old Spanish driver from Spanish F3. Allnew line-up for G-Tec, with the Spanish Celso Miguez (former World Series driver)
and the Ecuadorean Sebastian Merchan, who raced so far with Elk Motorsport. And from the next round in Spa the championship could welcome two more Lola-Zytek, thanks to a third car for the Minardi/GP Racing team and a second car for 2G Racing. In Germany all eyes will be pointed on the two championship leaders: Davide Rigon and Diego Nunes. The two Minardi by GP Racing drivers are just split by 9 points and, beside controlling each other, they'll need to defend their leadership against their tough competitors. The week-end schedule is as follows: two half an hour practice rounds on Friday (at 10:10 and 16:00), Saturday the qualifying session will take place from 9:35 to 10:05 and Race 1 at 15:15 (20 laps). Race 2 will start on Sunday at 12:05 (25 laps).
