The New Zealand A1GP motor racing team views this week's official testing at Silverstone as crucial to the team's hopes of improving on last year's runner-up placing in the championship.
The top three performers in the final hit-out of last year's 2-day testing session, Germany, Great Britain and New Zealand, filled the podium places in the second season of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.
A1 Team.NZL spokesman Bob McMurray said "Silverstone is about laying the foundations for a successful season and the pace-setters will go into Season Three with a huge amount of confidence."
23-year-old Jonny Reid, named most improved driver in A1GP last season, will be joined by teenage sensation Brendon Hartley in fine-tuning Black Beauty this week.
Off the track, A1GP will announce a new environmental policy that is expected to include a number of initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and assist in the ongoing fight against climate change.
A second two-day test session at Silverstone will be held on 18-19 September and will be the last chance for teams to improve set-ups and finalise driver choices before the opening round at Zandvoort on 30 September.
