Dunlop Festival Heads For Croft |

Croft Circuit near Darlington hosts the penultimate car race meeting of the 2006 season when the latest in the popular Dunlop-backed ‘Great and British’ Motorsport Festivals heads north next weekend (September 9th and 10th).
Organised by the BARC, the popular series will see capacity grids in
most classes and will feature various categories for various sports and
saloon cars as well as two races the ultra-rapid MSA 250cc Long Circuit
Karts.
The Dunlop Radical Enduro Championship sees two, forty minute races for
the SR8 cars on Sunday with championship leaders Lee Atkins and Phil
Quaife looking to increase their advantage.
The supporting Dunlop Biduro series for the lesser powered SR4 cars
sees James Saggers leading the series and planning on adding to the
five victories he has claimed so far this season.
The event will also feature two races of the Mini Challenge, which will
see the latest Coopers and supercharged Cooper S's battle it out and
not to be out-done, the classic Mini's will show they still have what
it takes with two further Dunlop-backed races starring the iconic Mini
Miglia and Mini Se7en.
Also included on the schedule are two races for the Playstation 2
Ginetta GT4 Junior Championship with James Harrison leading Henry
Surtees by just 18 points with two rounds to go.

Saturday’s action starts with practice at 09.30 followed by the first
of three races at 16.20 and Sunday’s nine race programme commences at
12.05. Adult admission costs £10 each day with accompanied children
aged 15 years and under admitted FREE.
DRIVE YOUR MINI AT CROFT
Dunlop Tyres is offering owners of Mini's old and new the chance to
drive round the twists and turns of the iconic Croft race circuit.
As part of their Great and British Festival, Dunlop is looking for Mini
enthusiasts to come to Croft and take part in their Mini Festival on
Sunday, September 10th.
James Bailey of Dunlop Tyres said: "The Mini is one of the most iconic
symbols of British motoring and we are delighted to have the Mini
Challenge as part of Dunlop's Great & British Motorsport Festivals."
"The Dunlop Great & British events are designed to be more than
just a typical race weekend and for Croft we thought it would be a
great idea to give the public a chance to experience the race circuit
as well. Therefore we want Mini owners to come along in their cars and
see how it feels to drive the track."
The chance to drive on one of the country’s top circuits is open to the
first 100 Mini drivers to arrive before 10.00 on Sunday 10th September
who will get the opportunity to lap the track in their own cars as well
as a limited edition gift bag.
In addition, the first 1000 people through the main gate will receive a Dunlop winner’s cap so make sure you arrive early!
