Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit September 1-2

The final round of the CAMS Victorian Formula Ford Championship was held over the weekend and Harrison’s performance was good enough for second overall in the series.
Saturday morning presented the field with a dry track for qualifying. Harrison’s fastest lap was good enough for second place in the 28 car field. “Im happy to be on the front row considering the quality of the field, the car was great and I was consistent enough to prove the car has genuine race pace”
The Seven lap first race saw Harrison leading into turn 4 on the first lap before making a mistake causing him to be shuffled back to 16th. By the end of the race Harrison climbed back to 8th place and set the fastest lap. “I just out broke myself at turn 4 on the first lap and it cost me a potential podium” “It was a silly mistake but it’s not the end of the world, there’s still two races left so I suggest I can be back up there” commented a positive Harrison.
With no changes made to the car for race 2 Harrison comments leading up to the race “If I can finish in the top 4 I will be happy, the weather is good so I think it will be a good race”
Seven laps for race 2 gave Harrison a number of battles for position before crossing the line 3rd under safety car conditions. “Im happy with third, the car was spot on and the other drivers were fair and good to race with”
The final race was 10 laps and saw Harrison battle for the lead with the new Champion Jake Chapman. Harrison lead the first lap before being passed by Chapman until lap 3 where he regained the lead for the remainder of the race to take his second race win for the year. “What a race, Jake and I drove fairly and in the end I won by the length of the nose cone”
“I would like to thank Sean Scott at Project Racing for all his help this year, my family for their support, Monza Motors, Alfpa Repairs, Kral’s Creations, XFI Boats and MG Multimedia”
Harrison now has his sights set on the Australian Championship in 2008.
