The Balfe Motorsport team
heads to its home race of the season at the British Grand Prix venue of
Silverstone next weekend, for the final round of the Radical World
Cup.
The Newark Glass Group backed squad is hoping
for a better turn of luck at the last round of the series, after a frustrating
weekend at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium saw drivers Nigel Taylor and Shaun
Balfe lose the lead in the points after two
non-finishes.
A return to a circuit that has
seen a number of top line results for the team is a bonus as both Balfe and
Taylor are keen to try as hard as possible to claim the World Cup
title.
“It will be a hard weekend,
that’s for sure,” said Balfe. “We dropped a lot of points at Spa, although, the
other people in the title race also had their share of bad luck. It has
certainly made it hard work for us at Silverstone,” he
added.
The team will have to maximize
its local knowledge against the foreign opposition in Northamptonshire if it is
to gain the maximum amount of points in order to go for the
title.
“We need to win both of the
races and see what happens to the others,” said Balfe. “We know that we have the
car and the driver line up to do it. It will be down to us to drive as hard as
possible and see where it puts us at the end of the weekend,” he
added.
The team will take to the
track on Friday for the free practice session, before qualifying and the first
of the two races take place on Saturday.
